One of FAQ about 46cm is about the main idea: How do it came on your mind?
Giada: " When I studied sociology at univeristy, I really liked the idea of prossemic. The prossemic space is really interesting to study, because you could see the relationship between tow people just looking the distance between their bodies. More space could means less trust, and if tow people is really closer the may be closer in they hart too. So the distance of the body like the distance of the hart.
The space between tow close friend is 46cm, so what's happen if somebody don't have friends, if his needs of space is too much important?! He could buy/made something to keep the world away.. and the bubble have this function: keep everything away. It's important to say that Livio doesn't hate the world, he just need space to live with it! He's alone but he doesn't feel it, untill he see Gaia. She is someone who maybe he would meets without protection..."
This was the first concept: someone who cuts out others, and he think he's fine, but when he discovers to want be with someone, he discovers he's real needs, and he must make a choise.
This was the main Idea from the very first scripts, the other things, like his job, or his age, this is changed along the path.

Una delle domande più frequenti riguardo 46cm è l'idea principale: Come è nata?
Giada:.. "Quando ho studiato sociologia all'università, mi piaque molto l'idea di prossemica. Lo spazio prossemico è davvero interessante da studiare, perché si può vedere il rapporto tra due persone solo in guardando la distanza tra i loro corpi, più spazio potrebbe significa meno fiducia mentre se sono vicini anche i loro cuori lo sono. Quindi la distanza del corpo, come la distanza del cuore.Lo spazio tra due amici stretti è 46cm, quindi che cosa succede se qualcuno non ha amici, se le sue esigenze di spazio sono troppo importanti?! Questo individuo avrebbe potuto comprare/costruire qualcosa fatta per tenere il mondo fuori .. e la bolla ha questa funzione: tenere tutto lontano. E 'importante dire che Livio non odia il mondo, ha solo bisogno di spazio per viverci! Lui è solo, ma non ci si sente, fino a che vede Gaia. Lei è una persona che forse vorrebbe incontrare senza protezione ... "Questo è stato il primo concetto: qualcuno che taglia fuori gli altri e pensa di stare bene così, ma quando scopre di voler stare con qualcuno, e deve fare una scelta.Questa è stata la principale Idea dai primi script, le altre cose, come il suo lavoro, o la sua età, sono cambiate lungo il percorso.
